Company Dancer
Claudia was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. She began dancing Flamenco with principal dancer, Sara Samuels, in 2002 while attending the Summer Transition Program at NEIU. In the fall of 2002 she began her formal dance training with Dame Libby Komaiko. Since then she has studied with and performed in the choreographies of Irma Suarez Ruiz, Jorge Pérez, Edo, Carmela Greco, Manolete, Ana González, Juan Mata, Paloma Gomez and Christian Lozano of the National Ballet of Spain, and Modern dance with Rachel Burton and ballet with Ana Czjaun. She has also attended master Flamenco workshops with Belen Maya. In 2004 she was promoted to Company Dancer. Claudia received her BA in Business and Finance at NEIU in 2008 where she was awarded the Brommel-Komaiko-Pérez scholarship established in honor of Dr. Bernard Brommel, Professor Emeritus, Speech & Communications at NEIU.
