he Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater is Chicago’s world-class professional Spanish dance company under the dynamic leadership of Founder & Artistic Director, Dame Libby Komaiko and Associate Artistic Director, Irma Suarez Ruiz.

Original Spanish classical ballets, folkloric suites and Flamenco dramas from a
repertoire of over 125 choreographies, created especially for the company, are
presented annually with revivals of international 20th century masterpieces.
The Ensemble Español will have you and your audiences dancing in their
seats raving: Ole! Bravo!

The Ensemble Español (EE) honors its fourth decade of
performances and residencies in the fields of Spanish dance,
music, visual arts, theater, classes, workshops & festivals in the
classical, folkloric and Flamenco styles. The EE also appears
with opera, film, chamber ensembles, festivals, conventions
and symphony orchestras. The company tours throughout the
United States, including Puerto Rico & Hawaii, and has
performed in four continents in the countries of Mexico, Costa Rica, Poland, Australia and most recently China, following
the 2008 Olympics.
