elcome to the summer's "Must See" event, the annual American Spanish Dance & Music Festival presented by the Ensemble Español Center for Spanish Dance & Music in residence at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), Chicago, now celebrating their 37th Anniversary. Founded by artistic director, Dame Libby Komaiko, the festival hosts the cast of 40 sensational dancers, singers, musicians, and guest artists who bring the magic of Spain to Chicago through their exciting fusion of traditional, classical, folkloric, Flamenco, and dramatic theatrical productions.

The Festival features gala concerts with U.S. and company world premiers beginning with the Duende Flamenco Music & Dance Concert at the beautiful Old Town School of Folk Music auditorium as part of their World Music Series on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30pm and Flamenco Passion Gala Concerts at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie on June 21 & 22 at 7:30pm and June 23 at 3:00pm. A comprehensive series of 57 master classes and workshops in the neoclassical, clásico Español, regional/folkloric and Flamenco styles of dance, music, vocals, guitar, & percussion, at NEIU dance studios will be presented on June 14 - 20. The festival course is available for undergraduate and graduate credit or non-credit. Company costume exhibits & Meet the Artists sessions are also part of the activities.

Don't miss company world premier works with stellar cast of guest artists; Carmela Greco, legendary Flamenco dancer and daughter of the world famous, Jose Greco, Paloma Gomez, former principal of the National Ballet of Spain, Jose Barrios, Principal Dancer of the Maria Pages Flamenco Dance Company, with musicians, Paco Fonta, Flamenco singer and guitarist, Antonio Gabarri Jimenez, Flamenco guitarist and Javier Saume Mazzei, percussionist.
