* A historic residency season, serving underserved Chicago Public Schools and over 2,000 students, teachers and parents including residency tours in the Mid-Atlantic region

* Serving over 20,000 youth and adults in the greater Chicago area with our Tales of Spain & Spain's Dancing Rhythms Programs

* Celebrating the Zelda Kolber Senior Spanish Dance Program

* Welcoming 10 new members to the Ensemble Español Youth Company, with one year scholarships valued at $10,000 each

* Dance for Life/Aids Benefit documentary television premiere August 2011 with Dame Libby Komaiko's master work Bolero filmed at the Harris Theater in Millennium Park, Chicago

* Over 75 million television viewers and over 400,000 spectators watched the Ensemble Español during the McDonalds annual Thanksgiving Parade on State street in Chicago

* Five sold out Family Holiday Concerts at Northeastern Illinois University Auditorium

*Youth Company gala fundraiser benefiting their premier study program Spain 2012. Donate today and help us reach our goal in taking our youth dancers to Madrid in July of 2012 to study with legendary Flamenco master, Carmela Greco

* The 35th annual American Spanish Dance & Music Festival presented on June 16-26 concluding with gala concerts at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie with guest artists from Spain

THE COMPANY’S HISTORY INCLUDES . . .

* over 90 company dancers representing nearly twenty countries and cultures

* over 170 youth dancers from ages twelve to eighteen

* over 97 international guest artists and musicians from Spain and the Americas

* over 125 full-length choreographies created for the company

* over 2,600 scholarships awarded to talented aspiring dancers and musicians

*establishment of the first and complete Spanish dance academic program in a state university in the classical, folkloric and Flamenco dance & music styles at Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, under the auspices of the Music department and Dance program

* tours throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico & Hawaii and on four continents in the countries of Mexico, Costa Rica, Poland, Australia & China following the summer Olympics

* over 1.4 million in concert audiences

* over 6 million television viewers worldwide watching the Ensemble Español perform at the opening ceremonies of the World Cup in Chicago (with President William Clinton in attendance) & the international Cervantino Festival in Mexico

The Ensemble Español is always in search for outstanding volunteers and remarkable interns. Whether you are seeking to make an impact in your community or to gain professional experience we have what you are looking for. The Ensemble has several positions open for volunteers and interns. Available volunteer opportunities include fundraising, youth company assistant, and marketing. We have several open internship opportunities including arts management, costume design and maintenance, photography and videography.
