About Andrea Salcedo

Andrea Salcedo graduated from the Merit School of Music with honors. While there she studied guitar under the direction of Thomas Clippert and Robert Sherman. She studied flamenco guitar with renowned maestro Jesus de Araceli from Spain, who took her as his protégée. She traveled to Spain where she attended the Festival de la Guitarra de Cordoba and the Cristina Heeren Flamenco Foundation workshops, there she studied with renowned maestros such as: Manolo Sanlucar, Pepe Habichuela, Jorge Pardo, Eduardo Rebollar, Joni Jimenez and Antonio Sanchez. Notable performances include the Chicago Symphony Hall, Old Town School of Folk Music, and the Chicago Flamenco Festival, among others. In 2015 she was awarded a scholarship to Northern Illinois University where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance under the direction of famous guitarist, Fareed Haque.
