About Erica Rose Sauder
Erica Rose Sauder, Soprano, is a senior vocal performance major at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), under the instruction of Dr. Sarah Hibbard. Her operatic and musical theatre roles at NEIU, under the direction of Sasha Gerritson, have included Jekyll & Hyde (Emma Carew), Die Fledermaus (Rosalinda), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Cosi fan Tutte (Fiordiligi), La Vie Parisienne (Baroness), and Street Scene (Mrs. Olsen). She has been featured in Opera Workshop Scene Recitals as Angelica in Suor Angelica, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Margaret Johnson in The Light in the Piazza, Leonora in Fidelio, Mimi in La Bohème, Cio Cio San in Madama Butterfly, Konstanza in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, and Mercedes in Carmen. She was recently awarded the Orvieto Musica Award, to study chamber music in Orvieto, Italy. Miss Sauder is a recipient of the Harold Berlinger Scholarship in Music, the Brommel-Ratner Scholarship in Voice, the Rev. John Krump Scholarship in Music, and the Vincent Oddo Memorial Award in Music. She is a winner of the Elyse J. Mach Concerto Competition and performed “Dove Sono i bei momenti” from Le nozze di Figaro with the NEIU Orchestra. Miss Sauder is the president of the National Association for Music Educator’s NEIU collegiate chapter, soprano section leader of the NEIU Chamber Singers, and the soprano soloist at Park Community Church in Chicago. She has worked as the administrative assistant for Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre for the past five seasons, and is delighted and grateful to been made her debut with Ensemble Español for the 41st American Spanish Dance and Music Festival.
