About Fredy Rocha
Fredy Rocha is a native of Chicago of Colombian parents. Fredy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Illinois Institute of Art and Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. He currently works as a Compliance Manager for IlliniCare Health and is a Resident Designer for Urban Theater. In addition to his working as a healthcare professional and designer, Fredy brings many years of experience in business management, marketing, and merchandising.
Fredy began his formal dance training in 1995 with Dame Libby Komaiko and studied Spanish dance with artists from the U.S. and Spain. He later received an apprenticeship scholarship with Ensemble Español’s Junior Division and was later promoted to full company member in 1997, performing with the Ensemble through 2016. He credits Ensemble Español for shaping him both professionally, creatively, and personally. Fredy currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for Howard Brown Health Center and the Youth Company Board for Ensemble Español.
He is a passionate advocate for social justice who sees access to arts education is as any other important social issue facing many communities today.
