About José Barrios
José Barrios, Flamenco dancer and choreographer born in Córdoba in 1975.
More than fifteen years as an interpreter and a good number of creations, endorse the career of José Barrios, a young and outstanding contemporary flamenco artist. He began his apprenticeship in Córdoba to later expand it in Seville and Madrid with professors such as Manolo Marín, Domingo Ortega and La China, among others.
He started his interpretive career dancing in different Flamenco festivals around Andalusia, where he shared stage with some of the greats of this art. As a creator, his first works are located in the United States, where José Barrios spent some time choreographing for the Boston Flamenco Ballet. Shortly after, he left the United States and went to Japan where he continued his career as a dancer and taught courses and workshops in leading schools. He has mounted numerous shows for Parque de España at Japan, and has starred in choreographic collaborations with José Porcel and María Pagés.
José Barrios has been developing his career with intimate works such as "Concierto-Aire de abajo" (2007) along with guitarist Isaac Muñoz; "Basicamente Flamenco" (2009), and "Por si acaso amanece" (2010).
