About Juan Antonio Mata

Juan Antonio Mata, pianist, composer and music teacher (Madrid, 1980).

He began his musical studies at the age of eight with Adela Mascaraque, a disciple of Pablo Sorozábal, and completed his elementary studies at the school "Joaquín Rodrigo" (Las Rozas). He continued his apprenticeship at the Professional Conservatory "Adolfo Salazar", and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with Outstanding.

Scholarship by the AIE expands studies in Jazz and Improvisation at the School of Creative Music, studies music teaching at the Complutense University of Madrid, and works for the SGAE in computer-music and musicology, in the review and recreation with samplers from the work of Falla, Albéniz and Granados for Chester Music Ltd, under the direction of Juan José Solana.

Specialist in music for dance, begins at age fourteen in the dance school "Pilar López" under the direction of Ana González. Later, he became pianist of the TEBNE accompanying the teacher Aurora Bosch.

For ten years he developed an important work as a pianist, composer and teaching researcher applied to dance at the URJC; and became a doctor with outstanding "cum laude" with his thesis "Analysis, study and musical proposal for dance".

As an interpreter and composer, both in Performing Arts and audiovisual media, he has worked for TVE and Telecinco, and also collaborates in outstanding productions such as the Ensemble Español at Northeastern Illinois University, the feature film "Rotas" or the ballet of Carmen Roche, among others.

He has worked as a specialist Pianist for Ballet class, Character Dance, Spanish Dance (Bolero School and Stylized Dance), and Contemporary Dance in: the Víctor Ullate Ballet, the "Alicia Alonso" Dance Institute, the Association of Dance Professionals , The National Ballet of Spain, The Russian Masters Ballet Camp, The Central School of Ballet and the English National Ballet School.
