About Manolo Leiva

Manolo Leiva (Manuel Leiva Espilares) was born in Malaga in 1924. He lived for almost forty years in the capital of the United States, where he performed his flamenco art tirelessly and reaping great admiration and success among the American public.

It was in the legendary Café de Chinitas that Manolo Leiva began a prolific artistic career that led him to perform in many countries (Mexico, France, Morocco, Canada ...) and for which he was distinguished in 1999 with the Medalla al Mérito en el Trabajo. Leiva will always be remembered as the great Malaga ambassador of flamenco in the United States, his second land.
